In this post
we discuss a typical failure in the lighting system of the Renault Megane II
model (all engines).
SYMPTOM
A failure in the position lights on the right side prevents them working
properly. There is a high probability that the respective fuse has blown and
that after replacing it the problem persists.
If the error codes are read, no stored failure will be detected concerning
this problem.
MAINTENANCE SERVICE
1- Check fuse -F7A-, of 7.5 A of the Switching and
Protection Unit, which manages the following elements:

|
Lighting of
the ESP system control knob (if equipped with it).
|

. If fuse -F7A- does not blow, the problem will be in one of the two lamps, otherwise continue with the intervention plan.
. If fuse -F7A- does not blow, the problem will be in one of the two lamps, otherwise continue with the intervention plan.
3- Disconnect fuse -F7A- and check all its wiring. This wiring is designed for
those models with heated seats, whether they are equipped with them or not; in
any case, the wiring is installed in all vehicles of this model.
4- In many cases, the short circuit is caused by one of the two connectors
that activated the heated seats. These connectors are located within the
central console next to the handbrake lever. The movement of the handbrake
lever can cause cuts in the cables, causing a short circuit.
